These are a cute little SBC made by B/E Aerospace (not to be confused with BAE)
B/E (now owned by Rockwell Collens) does interiors for a a large portion of comercial jets, including things like lavatories, entertainment, oxygen systems etc.
Each of these little boards has a 12MHz CMOS MHS S-80C51C MCU on it made on a 0.8u process
THe '51C has the 'secret ROM' meaning the ROM cannot be read back out once programmed
8x MHS S-80C51CWGV-12 SBCs for B/E Aerospace $6 each or a pair for $10 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

"secret ROM" LOL marketing speak.
Almost all 8051s have protected ROMs.
There's almost always a way to read them too. There are a number of tricks, most involving producing a hardware glitch which cause the MPU to think that it's reading data from external memory whereas it's actually reading from the internal ROM. I was once able to read one, and I'm no expert either. There are descriptions of the procedures especially on ECU hacking forums (engine control units in various brands of cars used to make extensive use of 8051s) |

LOL yup the irony is they called it 'secret' to not violate Intel's trademarks....
...on an MCU design that they licensed form Intel
Whats interesting is that MHS (Temic) included this in the part number, only ones that I know of that they did
They had a secret ROM ( C ) and a secret Tag ( T ) option _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
