I just got this really strange intel sample. Some of you may have already seen this one. Laughing

It looks like it could be a Test Vehicle from the TV "D" marking. I don't have a clue on DCARD. It is the same physical size as a Slot 1 PCB, and has similar heatsink mounting hole positions, but no notches at the top corners. The connector at the bottom is only single-row instead of double, but has a narrower notch in the same spot as SC 242. The manufacturing date appears to be Week 32, 1996. So it's early enough to be pre-retail Slot 1, but made the same week as known early Pentium II samples like Q999.

The Toshiba cache chips are ES and the intel chip on the back is marked DC SAMPLE. Unfortunately the BGA package has been de-soldered and is missing. Sad That might have given a better clue as to what this is.

The reference CPU is a Pentium II 350 SL356 (Week 9, 1999).

The position of C55 is very similar to C92 on the SECC Klamath PCB. That PCB might be a better comparison since it's closer in age to this sample than the SECC 2 version.

Nice find.

The wire routing on this PCB is a total mess. Seems like autorouter has been used without human intervention. That means this PCB is only designed for DC testing. Might be Thermal Vehicule (Or daisy chain related to cache/tag ICs.)

The connector reminds me of ISA cards.

I notice on the right side of the board when the Toshiba chips are facing you, there is what looks like a printed antenna. This could have been some sort of attempt at a wireless display video card or display extender with the chips being a buffer or video memory rather than cache?

Those are unrelated to x86 CPU. They are Intel GC80321 (I/O Companion Chip). Basically a RAID controller with XScale processor : https://datasheet.octopart.com/IQ80321K.DOM-Intel-datasheet-11793924.pdf

This looks like a trimmed shunt (low value resistor to measure current)

The "interleaved fork" like pattern, makes me think more of a moisture sensor?
