hi all,
there's one thing i hate on ebay. people who are using unseeable key search words, like this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6880815828
in white letters on white background is written:
Parole chiave: Intel 4004 4040 8008 8080 8086 8088 Nec Motorola AMD ami fairchild ibm idt hitachi mhs mitsubishi mostek nexgen philips rise siemens sgs rockwell signetics synertek thomson toshiba zilog weitek pentium celeron athlon 68000 68020 68030 sun unix
i never bid on auctions like this.
what is your opinion about that? _________________ best regards borris

Yes I saw someone do it, I thought it was genius. lol, and I'll bid on it, if I want it.
However, I never do this in my own auctions as you can receive a ban / striking off from Ebay _________________ 4000+ chips.

I hate that too, and usually avoid these auctions. Some people do this creatively though. I see sometimes auctions titled, for example, "Rare AMD 8086 (not Intel)".

| its a dumb ass thing to do and it annoys people trying to use the search facility - thats why ebay remove listings, and in this instance suspend people because he had it in nearly all his listings. |

i sometimes use the phrase "intel clone" or similar expressions.
i've never felt this may be comparable to what we have here.
also adding keywords to the description in an intelligent way like "support chip for intel 8080, 8085" seems not bad to me as far as it is true and gives information about the chip that is the auctioned item. _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

Yes and searching in this way you may actually stumble across a rare chipthat you may otherwise not seen before hand.
After all there is no "Rare chips" section as this has not been recognised yet.
I do rememebr Germany used to have a sub 100mhz category. _________________ 4000+ chips.
