My CPU has the Pin marked with RSV letters broken and the CPU only recives 0.800V.(the CPU works but sometimes the PC shutsdown when playng NFSU II even with a die temperature of 29C.
Its there any chance to repair the CPU or to give it back the 1.75V.
The CPU is a Pentium III Coppermine 1000MHz 256K L2 133MHz FSB and 1.75V.[/img] |

I can think of a couple options..
It is generaly not easy to repair pins, others can advise you on this.
However... There are other options. One is a motherboard that has overclocking settings. One that allows you to set the voltage in the BIOS. Another option may be a Slot 1 motherboard and use a Slotket. These often have thier own voltage systems, allowing you to specify what voltage you wish.
In general though, I would recomend you use EBAY to find a motherboard and CPU combo that uses your ram. Since your using PC133 most likely, I would sugest a KT133A system with an early Athlon XP. You will likely gain performance this way. Or since ram is cheap. Get yourself a K8 Sempron socket 754 combo. |

It's strange that this pin affects your voltage because RSV is reserved for future use, and according to Pentium III datasheet that pin should not be connected, i.e. the processor should work without this pin. Is it possible that some other pin was also damaged?

| It would be much easier (and not too expensive) to simply buy another CPU off ebay. |

It would but I leave in Romania and eBAY is in the UK, France....
And this processor is the first processor I bought from my own money so I not willing to trow it, besides is not that important because I have a Pentium 4 system, but just wanted to know wath that pin was doing. |
