That Asrock board is really interesting - two AGP slots. According to the website you provided:

- AGP1: AGP8X slot for socketA(462)
- AGP2: AGP8X slot for socket754

Very interesting that they spent money for two extra connectors (AGP + AGP-like upgrade slot). I bet not many people used the upgrades.

Any chance you have the two missing VRM modules for the P6DNE (yes I realise its gone now).

Looks like someone has butchered a power regulator on the PPro board between the PCI and memory slots.

I'll take the Asrock if you let it go for $15. It's too weird to pass.

I got luck and found Asrock K7Upgrade-880 too. All works great except SATA controller. I didn't found HDD which is supported by this board. All drives are not recognized. Maybe defect or it is nasty uncomaptible chipset. Latest BIOS onboard.

@stamasd if you get it in your hands and will turn on please report HDD SATA functionality.

I think that it is a well documented issue, due to the Vt8237 Southbridge (just search for "Vt8237 Sata", example link). My Msi K8T Neo would not work well with many Sata drives as well.
The issue is that Sata 2 should be compatible with Sata 1, but this Southbridge is buggy and does not support Sata 2 Drives Neutral
If your Hdd has a Sata 1 Compatibility jumper, try to acivate it.

Thanks CHips. I remember in those times not even SATA mode was the only reason. I don't remeber after 15 years but some combinations were not good. If Im right VIA didn't work with any WD.

I should have the MB later this week and will try it of course. First of course a good cleaning and fixing the missing heatsink so that may take a little while. If it works at all. And if I still have any socket462 cpu coolers left unused. Smile

I plan to try it with Linux as well.

I think only Seagate and Maxtor drives have this jumper to force SATA-150 speed.
