|
|
I am not a collector but have older cpus and mbs. I wanted to get an AMD FM2+ board with an AMD APU. The whole business of what a CPU does or does not do for video out graphics with no add-in cards has always been a mystery.
Simply put, a top end AMD CPU with no overclocking is an A10 8800 3.9 GHz does not have the clue "G" as Ryzen does in more recent product.
Sample part number AD885BXB144JC
Is there a CPU for FM2+ that has graphics out? I've always used onboard
video graphics for small monitors and found VGA adequate. The build would be to use in video transcoding/rendering to file formats.
Do your analysis pages which I've used other times detail that?
The most recent search I did for FM2+ boards turned up an ECS model.
I'll take advice on the practicality of this too. An entry level Ryzen as
example alternative.
Thanks for any help. |

All APUs have graphics out. It is the GPU that makes the APU "Accelerated". _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
I can resist anything except temptation.

If you are planning a build for transcoding and rendering - i.e., not for gaming, then consider getting more processor cores and a minimal discrete video card.
Right now, AMD APUs (the processors with graphics) have maximum of 4 processor cores, but your rendering can benefit from more than 4 cores.
There's probably no good reason to build a new system with the obsolete FM2+ platform, unless Ryzen parts are not available or not affordable at your location. |

Ok This rendering or encoding is not pro level just for storing dvd content in
digital form on disk. I've been using my oldest board with an Athlon in it:
2 cores but 3.6 clock speed. These jobs always take a long time because of
disk writes. My language is not real precise for this.
I have been following BuildZoid and others for x570 board tips. But my budget is way low for such considerations. Maybe a Ryzen3 2200G if I have the lingo right.
Anyway, It clears up the FM2 board issue. My boards in use are a Biostar
(that's the oldest one) and one each MSI 880gm and MSI 760gm both running PhenomII but cloack speads lower than the ol' Athlon. |

| Any of the A-series of APU's for FM2+ have integrated graphics. Athlon and FX CPU's do not. |
