|
|
I came across a Q335 in the wild listed for sale as a PII 266. Needless to say I was excited to get it. I tested it in a PD440FX board and it works perfectly. It's C0 stepping as I would expect for an SL264.
I've seen maybe five of these be sold or traded here on the forum. Does anyone have a count of how many exist in collectors hands and the lot codes for them?
Here's the backstory I got on these from xsecret: They were rebranded by Intel for Asus to help for the early development of the 440BX chipset. They told me only 10 where produced. Asus finally send them all over the world with the first 440BX motherboard as validation/review sample pack. I got them from Asus France when I start collecting back in 2001.
If only 10 exist I'm extra excited to have found one of these outside the known examples here on the forum. |

Count me into Q335 owner's family Frankly, I have feeling there are more than 10 pcs of them. Maybe they were made for Gigabyte, Abit etc. also ? _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Thanks for the info, Marcin. It's possible that they were made for more than just ASUS. Though both of our Q335's having the same production week could give support to the theory that intel only made 10 of them. Interesting stuff.
Everyone else with a Q335 please post up a picture! |

Very possible. I don't know what Intel employee thought those times but when I worked on electronic production if my boss would ask for 10 pcs for tests I would do the same and pick one of each from last parts/cartoons/containers. It have more sense then giving with continous serial numbers.
In other hand Intel originaly has marked them for sale part so just to not lose on reselling them after tests they just added another mark of ES. In my opinion it is only half sample _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

So far from this thread and forum sales/posts we have:
Q335:
97360018-024 - cvandijk
97370019-160 - gshv
97360020-102 - Alitoutou
97360045-191 - Katmai500
97360054-256 - xsecret
97360054-335 - Neology
97360054-337 - gshv
97360059-308 - Marcin
97360059-320 - xpci
unknown - windmiller
unknown - Borris70
Q337:
R7330322-093 - gshv
From searching around the internet I've also found
R7360527-308 - FDIV (chipdb)
So we know if only 10 exist that they were not sequentially numbered since the range of FPO numbers is larger than 10, and they were manufactured in both Malaysia and the Philippines.
There was also a NOT FOR RESALE Q337 based on the SL268 (chipdb)
