I never heard about 75 MHz versions of 5x86 processors, until I found one:

Cyrix 5x86 datasheet doesn't say about 75 MHz version, and I don't have IBM 5x86 datasheet to verify if it's something IBM-specific or not. There is a chance IBM datasheet doesn't say about it as well. I hope if IBM 5x86 75 MHz version exists then maybe Cyrix 5x86 version exists too...

I'll post my reply when I download and install a "jaw dropping" smile Smile

Now I know what to look for (I mean the processor).

Hmm there's nothing secret about the IBM 5x86-75, they're listed SmileSmile

Basically, what Cyrix would've marked as 100MHz, IBM marked as 75MHz. In like for 120MHz and 100MHz. I believe IBM also sold their processors marked at a lower vcore too. You could probably run that thing fine at 80 or 100MHz if you plan on using it, though I wouldn't promise you it.

More or less, IBM was probably being more cautious than Cyrix in their Q.A. practices. Quite typical. Cyrix sold everything pre-overclocked Wink

Excellent picture btw.
