| T9550 is a 1066 FSB CPU, your board needs to support it. |

Thank you for your answer.
How do I now if the board will support it?
The board is a K70IO 1.0 (same name as per the laptop model).
Chipset: NVIDIA nForce 730i rev 1
Southbridge: NVIDIA nForce 730i rev 2 |

Thanks for all your answers.
I've got a T9950 available here at home.
Shall I try to upgrade the T4200 with this or I may damage the board/cpu if it is not compatible?
Accirding to the list of gshv, the T9550 is present but does it mean I can safely proceed with this upgrade?
Thank you |

Thank you | At worst, your laptop won't boot because it's incompatible. |

| I'd suggest checking the chipset your laptop uses (using tools like CPU-Z, HWINFO or AIDA64), PM45 and GM45 officially supports FSB 1066, but a lower end chipset may or may not, the older PM965 and GM965 only officially do FSB 800 |
