Hello to all,

I'm new here so I hope I'm posting in the right section. Smile
I came across old ICs. There is one in particular I can't identify as it doesn't have any writing on it. Here is the top :

and the bottom.
.

To me, it seems to be a sort of RAM, according to the die which is pretty similar to what I can see on an EPROM : a lot of space seems to be some sort of storage.
I have to mention that the glass on the top of the die is perfectly flat. It seems to have glue traces but they are underneath.

I do know this type of package used by NEC for his 4116 DRAM chip like this one :

Any clue ?
Thanks a lot !

If you can get a clearer image of the die, you may get an answer.
If you have a flatbed scanner with a very very high DPI, you should be able to get enough resolution for someone here to identify it. Otherwise a good camera with a decent lens should do just as well.

Yes, package of the same type was used by NEC also for the 4116 DRAM. But the part number is uPD416D. See, for examle,
http://www.buy-transistors.com/ics.html?dir=asc&order=name&p=129.
