These chips will kill a normal LGA 1366 board, you need a special board with Jasper Forest support. |

Jasper Forest have completely different pinout.
Unlike Nehalems it uses DMI and have on-die PCI-E controller. |

It didn't kill my motherboard. Just it didn't boot.
I've never heard of a different Socket 1366 for Jasper Forest, like, let's say LGA2011 & LGA2011-1 or LGA1150 & LGA1150 v2. Does LGA1366 for Jasper Forest have a name ? _________________ Register on x86-guide.net to manage and share your collection on-line !

I'm pretty sure it is the same socket, and socket name, but rather the chipset that is different. (the 3400 series that was used with Lynnfield Xeon's). The pinout of the socket is different, though, to accommodate the DMI bus. |

There are only a couple OEM boards that support Jasper Forest.
I've tried in 4 different boards that I have here , all resulting in no boot. All boards are still in working condition. |
