Hello!

I've put together a win98se + Cyrix MediaGx 200GP.

Cpu-z gives a variable FSB, from 20.xx to 33.44mhz, lowering the cpu frequency with a fixed 6x multiplier.
Just a mistake or the chipset did adjust the fsb? Cx5520 chipset based mobo (st-mgxm).

Just putting the thing together was a royal pain, as it really hates pci add-on cards for usb.
Freezes a lot and works well only when everything is plugged in at start.

I chose the "hurt me plenty" level and it did Sad

FSB should be fixed on 33.33 MHz for 200GP (and all other speed grades except 180).
There is special version of CPU-Z for old CPUs,

If it does not work correctly you can report it in that thread.

Thanks.

Yes, rated fsb isn't fixed on 33mhz.

Is there any other app to test this system?

After 3 straight hours soldering to make something of my saturday night...
I'll do that tomorrow.

Looking at vogons, there's plenty of people doing tons of interesting stuff. Smile

Vogons is one of the best sites for info about vintage hardware. One of the few sites I follow daily (in particular, Marvin).
