I have found archive article from November 1993. DRx2-25/50 NIB contains extraction tool, heatsink with thermal tape, instructions and floppy with software. Original catalogue price without taxes and other fees from that time was only 399 USD. This upgreade was more expensive than whole computer Laughing

I really wonder what were the specs of a new complete computer for 399USD in 1993?

Very good price on the boxed Cyrix Cx486DRx2-25/50. So these units were boxed with the intention of the end-user installing the thermal tape and heatsink? I bet the tape is all dried out by now.

The tape was an aluminium foil with a pre-applied adhesive that were attached to the heat sink. Still works if heated up, but it isn't that great.

I'd like to know what brand of adhesive tape Cyrix was using on their products. I assume the DRx2 chips used the same tape as the 5x86?
