Here we have some special collectibles Smile

The first 10K rpm SATA HDDs by Western Digital, 36.7GB Raptors. These were made in 2003 to 2005. The HDD itself has 1 platter, 2 heads and 8Mb SDRAM 166MHz 16-bit cache. ATA-100 inside, SATA-150 outside, Marvell 88i8030 bridge chip in the middle. You can see it near the SATA connector.

BTW it's surprisingly quiet for a 10K rpm drive. I've had many 7200 rpm drives which produced more noise. SATA-150, so it works fine with old mainboards. Even those VIA chipsets don't complain.

I have wiped each drive clean and made sure SMART is good, but no extensive surface testing done.

Wikipedia: Western Digital Raptor

$8 each or $15 pair

5 available, 4 sold

Each drive weighs 0.75kg, so postage to the AVICC is $6 per drive or actual if direct.

Windowed ones were Raptor X drives. I believe they only shipped in 150GB capacities

Yeah, the 3rd gen. Those are native SATA. Although there are also the 74GB and 36GB versions with 2 and 1 head respectively vs. 4 in the 150GB version.

Surface tested a couple of drives prior to wiping. They are near perfect. Some SQL data bases were there. Alright, let's do $8 each / $15 pair.
