The Cypress CY7C9101 is a CMOS implementation of 4 AMD 2901s in a single chip (with look ahead carry generators) forming a 16-bit processor
They are compatible with the AMD AM29C101 and made on a 1.2u CMOS process
These ones are pretty early, being from 1987
3x Cypress CY7C9101-30JC $9
Let make these $6 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

| I'm mildly tempted. Was this chip used in anything notable? |

It ended up being fairly popular in its various forms (DIP and CPGA versions too)
Mostly in custom or higher end designs, lots of military type stuff used it as it was the basis of custom processors
WSI went on to make a 32-bit version _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
