So I recently stumbled into a collection of parts from a former Motorola engineer and there's a bunch of parts in here that have no records on the internet of ever existing. I'm kinda wondering what I should do with them. I can't really use them if I can't identify them or find a datasheet.

I'm still cataloging everything and finding datasheets for what I can, but if I'll post a list of chip markings and some pictures once I'm finished. Maybe you guys can help me figure out what I've got here and if there's anything worth preserving.

Motorola made a lot of custom stuff too (ASICs etc) not common to find no info on that sort of stuff (part numbers usually starting with SC) _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Yep. Those are the main ones I couldn't find anything about. I take it there's no way to identify them other than decapping them and trying to reverse engineer?

yah if truly custom thats the only way
Sometimes they have a SC... part number on a standard chip, thats called a 'House number' and some of these retain the mask set number on them , which can be used to ID them
Like the attached pic
Motorola SC84003L
Mask Set: W8L which tracks to a MC6809L _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
