Hello all, especially very old chips collectors.

Do you have any good idea to obtain very old chips at
reasonable prices? How do you think that " Group buy"
using semiconductor dealers?

I am feeling that it is time to find the another
sources to obtain very old chips, not from auctions,
such as eBay. As we know, the end bid prices of these
auctions become much too raise ever before. And, some
heavy monopolists, resellers, and who might intend to
buy for investments appear, the things become much
too worse day by day. For example, Now, you need at
least over US$100 when you bid off an Intel C8008-1.
When I bid off, (aprox. 5 years ago), it is only US$20
or so, at new condition.

On the other hand, I think that you have already
noticed, there are many very old chips in semiconductor
dealers' stocks. You can find these chips very easily,
at electric parts trading companies that provide online
retrieving services.
But, there are some limitations, the minimum quantities,
values, you are electric materials buyer at your company.
Most cases, it can't approve their minimum order value.
I have asked these many dealers, but there are very
few cases, that I could make sales contracts...

I am living in Japan. In Japan, there are obscure
Japanese microprocessors, made by many Japanese companies
from early 1970's. I also think in the U.S.A., there
are items made by the U.S.A. companies.
I would like to know that how many people want to
very old chips (might be Japanese chips (Non-Intel),
from me).
If there are many (may over 20), I would like to try to
quote with over 20 chips.

Best Regards,

Naoto Kojima

I'll bite. I have been hoping someone would be willing to put together some large buys of NOS chips for some time. It does seem that many semiconductor dealers have much of what we are looking for for quite cheap with only the obstacle of large minimum orders in the way.

I have also noticed the growing problem of auctions on ebay. Scrappers in particular are pissing me off as they are outbidding me. Some paying as much as $5 a chip in scrap value and none willing to even respond to my e-mails. I could just about strangle actshon88.

Hello all,

Well, now there are only 7 people (includes me), I recognized.
I think that it is not enough quantities... So, I would
like to wait the end of this week.

I am planning to ask the dealers to quote for these Japanese
chips, now.

Maker Type (Package / Pin /etc.)
-------------------------------------------------
Matsushita MN1400CK (Black PDIP / Tin / 4bit MCU)
Matsushita MN1499 (White CerDIP / Gold / 4bit MCU Evaluation chip)
Matsushita MN1800A (? CerDIP / ? / MOS 6502A Compatible CPU)

There is Matsushita MN8660AP (may PDIP) on their offer lists,
but I couldn't what this chip is. Does anyone know what this is?

Best Regards,

Naoto Kojima

The info I found on this chip is that it is a 6802 compatible.
I would be interested in this one.

I might be interested in one or more of each as well, depending on price.

Are their any German collectors that would be willing to act as a group buy leader through Demotronic? Demotronic minimum is only $100 and they have an online search tool for their inventory. They have some good stuff.

I'm interested in a Demotronic group-buy.
One time I've sent them a request for some cpus, but they never answered...
