Anyone oriented in cables of SCSI DB25 parallel cable connection ? I have a few of ZIP drives with DB25 ports and SCSI interface. Currently I have only one ISA 8 bit SCSI controller with female port DB25 but the main question is if I can use standard parallel DB25 cable or there were dedicated to SCSI connection (different pinout) ?

On the photo I have switches to turn on termination and SCSI ID. I understand Termination should be On when other SCSI device is connected to ZIP drive ?

If there is another SCSI device connected to the zip drive, termination must be off. If the zip drive is the last device, it must be on.

About the cable, you can just use a standard cable, make sure the pins are 1 to 1 connected.

Thanks for the reply. I gave up connecting ZIP to my 8bit Symbios 53C400a ISA card as I couldn't find rights drivers and propably that controller was dedicated to work only with HP scanner but I'm not sure. I have ordered generic Adaptec AVA-1505AE SCSI on ISA 16bit which is already on the supported list of integrated drivers in W95 RTM.

Driver for the Adaptec AVA-1505AE is included, but I'd still recommend you find Adaptec's SCSISelect utility for this card if possible. These cards are jumperless and all the performance settings are controlled from the software.

Thank for a TIP. I found it :
https://storage.microsemi.com/en-us/speed/scsi/general/1505cfg_exe.php
Respect to Microsemi for keeping so old files from owned company Smile

Update :
All is in working condition now. I didn't have to install ADAPTEC Tool. Iomega ZIP Guest app found drive then assigned letter and I was ready to go.
