Very interesting chunk of history!
It does, however, surprise me, that bubble memory was used that late, but yeah, the non-volatile is the key here .. |

Early 80s was the prime time of bubble memory, no alternatives with such density. |

| Indeed, the Intel magnetic bubble memory modules were in the rage in the early 1980s. |
