I have started to save chips with broken off pins. Here is result of first patient : Pentium Pro 1M SL259 with totally broken off pin in the corner. Adjacent pin started to be loose so I strengthened him a little. I regret I didn't made a photo before job. Next patients will be fully photographed

Can you explain how you made this tiny repair and duplicated the pin shape so perfectly?

Definitely must test it ! but in same time I have no worries if chip was working before soldering. Pin was broken off but pad stayed intact.

Hahaha  I plan to buy good quality magnifier as it helps much at that work. I have soldered with old Weller WTCP-S soldering station. Small tip and 0,56mm tin. The main secret of success is tiny droplet of solder acid because even of gold plated with alone tin is hard to merge together. After that I clean with isopropanol alcohol and very soft brush. Missing pin was took of from other broken cheap chip and hold with tweezer of course
