Here are some very early pre-production 6803 processors.
The 6803 was announced in late 1978 but wasn't available until late 1979, so these are some of the first ones made.
The 6803 enhanced the 6800 instruction set with some 16-bit instructions, and an 8-bit MULT instruction amongst other things.
These are NOS, been in a tube a long long time

| In the picture the pins look discoloured. Is that corrosion, or an artifact from the manufacturing process? |

No real corrosion on them, just age I think, some have some rainbowing, typical of the heating from the pins being brazed on, probably should have had a thicker gold layer _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
