|
|
Hello, Its me once again. Thanks to everyone here for helping me with my P4 issue-Works Perfectly... However, My motherbaord has a built in hardware feature which shows cpu temp, fan speeds, and crap like that. Everything is good but the cpu temp. According to the mobo the temp is 64c at idle. Theres no telling what it is after booting. My case has a temp display which reads the temp around 28c idle with the thermistor (temp sensor) in the heatsink against the copper core. HMonitor shows the cpu temp at 32c idle. Should I worry about the mobo temps? Has anyone here used hmonitor? Is is pretty good? |

| Thanks, I'll definately use this. It shows my temps as good too. hmonitor and speedfan show my mobo temp as very high. Everything seems pretty cool to the touch. Any ideas? |

Hasn't anyone figured this out yet?
Hmmmm...Seems there could be a few things here.
1.Bad Capasitor !
2.Bad Capasitor !
3.Maybe the Via chip( happens often) Alot of the times people endup putting a cooler & fan on these.
4 Thermal sensor for the motherboard could be "toast".
If I could see the board, I could tell you
Thats about all that could be wrong.

Sometimes you have to take those hardware monitors with a grain of salt. I have seen sensors that go bad due to bad QC.
If the heatsinks are cool to the touch, ignore it.
Did you use thermal paste between the heatsink and the cpu? Just checking mind you.
Did you reuse the old heatsink/fan? If memory serves you replaced a Celron with a P4, they make more heat....so you need a more efficent heatsink/fan combo |
