Hey everyone

This is my first post here. I had 3 boards which based on number of it maybe from 1986 and the language seems Russian.

I processed the tips of their relays which had silver. But I have been left with these components. I believe two of them are transformers and those six must be capacitors. I am curios about the pipe shape components.

Any of them as value as vintage for collectors?

Thanks and best regards
KJ

In the pictures:
- relay РЭН-18
- capacitors К50-6
- transformer ТСМ-2
All this can be safely thrown into the trash. There is a lot of such junk.
It has no collectible value.

Yes, РЭН 18-Т has silver contacts, ~1.7g per relay.
The rest is useless.

Fellows

I removed the copper wires of the first relay seen in the picture and looked at the rod which I believed it was copper and coated with silver.

So I tried sulfuric plus nitric acid method to remove silver coating and leaving the copper intact, but to my surprise nothing happened.

So I rinsed it clean and added part of the rod in nitric and got reaction then rinsed it clean and to that nitrate solution added hcl to see if any silver that was dissolved to be dropped as silver chloride

Again nothing happened but solution turned yellow so I tested the solution and it was positive for Pd Palladium.

Here are some pics.

Indeed
I have to let you all know that for some reason I think my stannous chloride testing solution is bad.
But I saw yellow Pd salt dropped and it dissolved back to solution but solution is negative.

You did not go the right way and made a mistake in the forum.

Hi
Please elaborate? I have been a member of grf since 2009. You mean I should not post anything related to refining here?

Speaking about gold refining here is like speaking about meat cutting technique on a veggie forum... It's HELL Twisted Evil Laughing

[quote="kjavanb123"]Hi
Please elaborate?/quote]

As collectors, we see many valuable items destroyed by people who try to extract insignificant amounts of precious metals from them. Thankyou for checking here first to see if any of your items had collectable value before scrapping them. We appreciate that, and wish more scrappers took the time to do that. But while talking about scrapping isn't banned here per se, destroying old things is the exact opposite of what we do, so discussing that is certainly out of place here.
