The National IMP-16 is a multi-chip processor design from 1973.
It uses 4-bit RALU slices (the IMP-00A) which contain the Registers and ALU logic with various control units.
National made several pre-defines control units implementing several instruction sets.
The IMP-16A-521 was a 16-bit instruction set that worked with 4 of the IMP-00As There was also an extended 16-bit that supported mult/divide (the IMP-16A-522) as well as 4 and 8-bit versions
