I think it's only payments into the US by bank transfer that are more expensive, and then only under a certain amount. Hopefully John will clarify

I didn't know domestic transfers were so expensive in US, I believed it cost $ 25 for transfers from overseas

I was surprised, but it cost $25 when I used xe.com (they are worldwide money brokers) to send John a payment, and he said that was normal at the time. I would prefer bank transfers everywhere if I thought it was an option.
