Will see wat others come up with, but Motorola made a lot of one off custom or ASIC chips.
If this is one, then there may be no public info on them
If you can put a picture up.. what package are the chips & any other markings including the under-side _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

nice old packages from 1973
on first glance custom rom chips.. more value in their looks than ic value. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

| Thanks again for the info. I really appreciate it. I am new to the collecting side of electronics. I got my associate's degree in electronics and acquired these and many other chips from an estate while in school, and they have been in my basement ever since. |

All good.. so the closest Intel equivalent would likely be a 1601 & 1602 depending on ROM size. Though the package is old, by the dates they are probably 2k. Too early for 4k _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Well, I may have answered my own question. after looking at the chips I realized that I had some Texas Instruments IC's labeled with the same 930486 but were also labeled with TMS4100, so according to the datasheet below the TMS4100 JC is a character generator so I am assuming that the Motorola chip is a copy of or equivalent to a TMS4100?
also for some reason one of the Texas instrument chips is labeled TMX4100
