9021 for your LD8086 probably says on the back, but also they didnt use a 4 digit year in 1980 typically, nor laser engraving)

Updated Very Happy ! Will the new Champion be one day dethroned?
I wonder what kind of machine this Cpu comes from...

The 8086 was out on June 8 1978, which is Week 7823, so this one was made 6 weeks before.
There are Production D8088s with 7914 Date Code, which is 12 weeks earlier than the Release Date on July 1 1979 (7926) so maybe we could find a Production C8086(-4) as early as 7811 or even 780X...
And there has to be Es with 1977 or even 1976 Date Code out there as the 8086 was designed since Early 1976...

Almost all S280x were originally on dev boards. I still have the dev board were my S2804 was.

Wasn't the official release date of 8088 June 1 1979 instead of July 1 1979?

I read July 1 on the Intel 8086 Wikipedia Article, but it indeed says June 1 on the 8088 page Lol
I suppose that the latter is right then, which means it is 7922 rather than 7926...
It is not rare to see Cpus produced 10-20 weeks before Release Date so I still have the hope to find within the next decades a C8086 that beats the 7817 record :p
