Interesting article.

Is there a reason why the Q0520 has the "Job 1" marking?

No idea, it was printed with the logo, so makes me think it was a marketing/employee gift type of thing

Kinda like quality (or whatever) is job #1, they met their goal so got the 'award'

Many Thanks ! It was very interesting to read ))

I have not seen more than 2 processors in Socket 5/7 systems. How many processors were the specifications allowed? It would be interesting to see examples of 4-8 processor sockets Smile

yah, cool aidea =) but firts I want Dual-Socket 3 system with pair PenitumOverdrive 83Mhz. Because this is also a pentium )

4-8+ should be doable, just requires extra hardware, multiprocessor is always 'easier' then native Dual Processor.

Remember how ALR made 6x PPros work haha

That is an interesting article here Smile

Does this predates the BREQ signal for multiprocessor system which found on Pentium Pro and later CPU?

The BREQ signal is not a new one.

You can found it on a 80x8x as "HOLD" and "HLDA":

HOLD send to the CPU if some chip need the system bus (as example a FPU)

HLDA (Hold Adknowledge) send from CPU to tell that the system bus now can be used, as example by the FPU

Nope
Q0520 is one of the P54CM, there was a post some time back with a pic of one, thats what cvandijk was referencing.

I never knew a special Pentium existed for SMP. I always saw just a pair of sockets and regular Pentiums in each socket.

Am I missing something?
