|
|
| So I have the chips pulled from a prisitne Prolog 90 suitcase version. I was wondering what you all thought about the best way to pass these along to someone else. Not really my thing anymore. Don't know current value of them given the pandemic, inflation, other economic issues plaguing the world but any help would be appreciated. Yes that is a coveted grey trace in there. Any help is appreciated. |

I would have kept it intact (including whatever covered the EPROMS to stop UV killing the data on them) as some collectors would have wanted a working system. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Yeah, I can put them back in the system and turn it on. It works no problem.

ebay probably fetch $2k for them |
What will they be worth in 10 years from? I am weighing them against another investment and I don't see these chips increasing that much. They went from $1k to $2k in the last 7 years which is kind of a weak increase. |

You pull them from a working system? Instead of try to make the whole system more worthy as a complete System?

If you are interested in long-term value, keeping it as a full system is probably your best bet.
C4004s are rare enough as-is. Intact prolog systems with such nice chips are even more so. _________________ My collection |

I agree with Crazybubba and Debs. Even with far more modern systems, motherboards generally carry their value far better than chips alone. That's because chips are (comparitively) easier to store safely compared to boards/systems, while also taking up less space. So whole systems are much rarer and more valuable. _________________ My WTB List
