Problem in Denmark at least, is that the postal service charges appx $20 for handling the VAT and Customs if applicable.

I don't have any issues with paying the Danish 25% VAT on, say a 10$ chip, but I really don't want to pay the additional 20$ Fee. It could be solved if the shipper already reports the applicable amount and prepays it, but that seems to be a pretty tedious task.

Yes, thats the problem here too.

Some % of taxes dont matter (even on a $100 box) but the additional fixed costs each box are much - if you are a private person.

My idea was to create something like a AVICC back office here - i need to pay some % and 6€ fixed costs (because i have a company) - so its may cheaper to send a bunch of chips to me (spread import costs to all recipients) and send inter-europe, tax free boxes.

Consider me interested, i'm thinking of buying some higher-value stuff from eBay USA which will definitely cause me to get hit with fees by Customs.

Hope you made it through the flooding safe, then.

With that much room, I don't think there's more to debate then Cool

Our whole village is at hillside, so all water gone down - to lower villages unfortnatly but nothing happend here (except of some water at the basements, but nothing to talk about)

I will discuss that with John, at least he has less work with dozens of small boxes.

My package from US is on customs procedure 3rd day. I read on polish audio forum that some people waiting even more than month only for customs procedures. I never had and heard about such delays so it became a problem for sure. The strange thing is purchased items from Asia is coming much faster and without those procedures. On one hand I like it but on other it smells like unfair international trade agreements.
