Hello guys,

Up for sale is a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-EXTREME motherboard with LGA775 to LGA771 mod (small guides on the socket cut to match LGA771)

Installed are: Xeon X5482 + 4x2Gb fast DDR2 + Zalman full copper cooler

For sale at 150€ or best offer

This is a monster board, served me very well for more than 10 years as my main system and still competes with most of the i3 configs out in the wild

This is the best board in my opinion for overclocking LGA775 and LGA771 motherboards as you have chirurgical control of all the parameters, and it is well ready for watercooling, so this is the best match if you want to reach records using the LGA775 to LGA771 mod

I have been running this very CPU at 3.62Ghz with the mentioned cooler without any instability so you could easily reach 4Ghz and more with some better cooling

The Extreme board is exceedingly rare now. Open market in the U.S., it goes for around a hundred bucks.

not a EP45T-Extreme so it's value for those 'tards on hwb*t is nil :^)

I agree though, €150 for such a board is ridiculous.

it is in line with the price of all components on ebay actually, derated by 25% of the lot value... is this so much higher than what I could expect?

it is 100€ for the board, 30€ for the xeon, 35€ for the 4 memory stick and 35€ for the zalman, and I reduced it a bit, seems fair to me

as far as the motherboard goes, it seems a bit unobtainium these days so there could be some demand...

I'm also willing to sell those separately, offers accepted

It is much higher than what you could expect here, at least.
Ebay may be different. Some sellers just put some high price and wait. Sometimes a lot. Always better to look at completed listings than what is currently on sale.
Average Xeon X5482 selling price seems to be more around $30 than 30€. Memories and heatsink are selling for far less.
Board I don't know, I didn't find one on Ebay neither listed nor sold.
Anyway, this is "just" a LGA775 board. You have to find a buyer that absolutely want that extreme board to sell it at that price. Not impossible on Ebay (but can take sometime), but here...

If it was a EP45T-Extreme you could have asked €100 for the board, but because it's DDR2/a EP45-Extreme, lolno forget it.

it may be true, but there is also the mention "or best offer" so please if you are not interested it would be nice to stop ranting about the baseprice I was able to fetch from available sources about this board...

if someone is interested, he can propose something, this is a great board for 775 & 771 because you can adjust almost every parameter in a big range, and it makes it easy to tweak for performance

Hey all

Why make such a matter about pricing ??

Dont we live in a free market world ? ... where offer and demand regulates the price of goods ?

Supply and demand, you say? I have lived under market capitalism for too long to believe in such Keynesian nonsense. Who owns the production and sales market. The owners of production facilities will create both supply and demand for you. You, as a single and disposable consumer, do not decide anything here.

And here 's a sale of collectible processors for dessert .
