Sheesh...

I couldn't care less about the 1102, what ever it is. (But then im not a collector by chip68 standards.) Just because a chip is rare and there are not many known to exist makes them collectibles by everyone.
Am i crazy or does anyone else not just have "feeling" for certain chips? (not particularly the 1102.) _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. Now over 6000 different chips in the database. |

With a little work I could probably create a list of chips that are uncommon (or even *RARE*), but which are currently of no interest to me I also like to know when I buy a chip that it is testable, as well as being in as good a condition as I can get. A working chip is worth far more to me than a dead one, and likewise a desoldered chip is worth less than a socket pull or an NOS chip (although more than a dead one, especially if it's an early or rare chip). _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I've started collecting MCUs, but don't have many yet. Now that my collection is more than 500 CPUs I've had to expand a little to keep finding chips that I can afford _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I am going to limit my microcontrollers to PICs. Look out for the tasty JW development ones. Again, probably not a chip/range for the purist(s). They sit well with my Intel collection. |

I'm a purist - I collect purely those chips which interest me and which I can afford
I'm gonna have a chatwith my local, old-skool electronic supplier and see what other old stuff he has in his attic _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
