45x Conexant RL56CSM/3 R7177-24 ARM 40MHz MCM
These are 4 die communications MCMs. Looking at the back you see 4 squares of connections.
Those are thermal vias for each die. There are 3 DDP (Digital Data Pumps) and one for the ARM processor.
The DDPs can handle Fax, modem, ISDN, or Voice
45x Rockwell L39/U L3903-57 20.5MHz Enhanced 65C02
These are based on the Rockwell 6500, itself a 6502 derivative. They add 43 new instructions (mainly bit manip and arithmetic). They were commonly used to be the brain of modems and other comms gear.
45x National Semi. NS405-C12N 12MHz 8048 SoC with video controller
These are an early SoC designed to take care of all functions of a terminal (old school thin client). They even handle the CRT/graphics controlling duties.
45x National Semi. INS8049L11UGR/N 11MHz XMOS 8049 (Nat Semi's enhanced NMOS process)
These are all $2 each , $1 off for every 4 ya buy _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

This is cooler than i4004
I will add that most rockwell (and further conexant) chips are MCM. In the rockwell PLCC you can have anything between 2 and 3 dies.
John I will check what rockwell chips I have unpacked, I may retract if I have these already.
[edit]yeah I have unpacked L39/U, but the die overheated and it does not look nice, so I will need them. L39 are single die. |

Sorry to be late to the party, do you still have some "L39/U L3903-57 20.5MHz Enhanced 65C02" ? I'd happily buy you a couple of them. _________________ https://adumont.github.io/ |
