Hello everybody. I recently opened a can with old chips, mostly DRAMs, and it contained also this big buddy in DIP40 beside all the other small DIL pakages:

I tried to identify it, but obviously don't know the rules Fujitsu used for it's production marking. Can anyone point me to the right direction please?

Many thanks for help.

9045 is the date code of production, 90 year 45 week,
part number is PM009 but seem to be a custom part for some specific company, unfortunately not help also the date copyright

Yes, could be. I found somewhere a list of PM009-NNN chips without any information. Seems like a batch produced for someone else to be burried deep inside some device internals, maybe vintage keyboard. Due to origin of the can of chips I have a feeling (and as an engineer I hate anything unable to proof Confused ) it could be connected with MCS-48 family. But I can be on the wrong side of the road...

Maybe someone else spotted that family of chips inside something?

It's an Intel design from '77 based on copyright alone. Any of the old 8088 chips were '78+, and I don't think Fujitsu made an 8080.

What other DIP-40 that Intel did in '77 might it be? Is there a list of designs Fujitsu licensed from Intel? Might give a better hint.

It could be an MCS-48 MCU with custom ROM

Very close

This should be a MBL8042H with custom ROM

That's confirms my suspicion about the mcs-48 family CPU, I had no other idea what other could be Intel '77 copyrighted. Maybe some keyboard or printer pull, who knows...

If it's alive, I'll try to confirm that using some hardwired NOP loop on my breadboard with forced external program memory, if that's sample supports EA signal control at all.
