I'm going to be slimming my collection in the near future. Going to start by testing all my graphics cards, keep the best of each generation (from MDA to modern) and putting most of the rest on eBay.

Then going to test my motherboards, keep the best and sell the rest.

I have over 600 graphics cards and about 150 motherboards to test, so it'll take quite a while, but it will help me pay my chip bills.

I was 60 a few days ago, so by the time I finish paying what I owe CPUShack and vegeta, I'll be too old to enjoy my collection Smile CPUs will take me forever to test, especially with the time it'll take to pay my debts and hence receive a lot of chips I bought over the years, but I intend to spend my old age testing everything. At least I'll not have time to be a bored old spinster Smile

There will still be the odd modern chip I'll buy, just nowhere near what I've been used to.

It is part of getting old, Debs Neutral

I had to get rid of most of the papers, computers and monitors that I left at my old home since I don't have enough room for my garage as a storage space anymore at my new home.

It'll be a great service having standard benchmarks/testing of so many GPUs though, so thats cool

This for certain. It's always really important to be able to enjoy the things you collect.

And while optimising/purging is never easy, sometimes it's good to be able to document what you have and let it go to focus on more important stuff.

I've seen enough older collectors through my dad, where everything is just boxed up. Never enjoyed. And that's how it stays.

It's gotta spark joy, or something like that. Good on you for making documentation a priority as you work through your stuff!

They say space and time are infinite,

yet no one of us seems to ever have enough.
