| Why do some of the flags have a hammer and sickle, some have a patern of stars, some have nothing (plain red,) and one have a white stripe. Arn't these all supposed to be chinese flags? Has the flag changed that many times since the revolution or am I missing something? |

flag with a hammer and sickle----flag of Chinese Communist Party
flag with five stars ---- National flag of People's Republic of China
nothing (plain red) ----- In fact, the pattern in all flags should not be seen, that is behind Mao's picture.
flag with a white stripe ----flag of the Chinese Worker’s and Peasants’ Red Army" (1928-1937) (RED ARMY, founded in 1927). The Red Army is the early armed forces of the Chinese Communist Party(founded in 1921).
Mao was the leader of the Nation, the Party and the Army for a much long time.
