FYI running CWID under W10 (20H1 IIRC) runs for 1 or 2 seconds and returns with no success/error statement in cmd window. Usually a browser is launched with info, private/public setting, delete option but this does not happen. Ended up using wireshark network sniffer to extract the link and post it manually into a browser.

Might be many who want to contribute with CWID but are left sending data that is not going to get the chance to be made public and not knowing what happened.

Works fine on Win 10 x64 21H2 with all updates, on an i7 6700K. Just tested it.

Hopefully Genna will see your post and have a solution.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe OS/Browser configuration blocking? I will try to check further.

I use Chrome browser. I can't see Genna blocking anything, but some sort of incompatibility is always possible.

Setting Firefox default browser worked, setting chrome to default saw an update and worked. Never checked what was default first so system restore from 2 days ago showed Edge as the default browser which I've never used and now chrome doesn't even start so will have to re-install that. Maybe I had Edge blocked from some time ago, idk.

So looks like a one off, sorry for any convenience.

More of a workaround really.

The problem seems to stem from

"rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler httpxxwww.cpu-world..."

This doesn't return errors, maybe call FileProtocolHandler directly which does or use some other method?

Fault can be replicated by having Edge as default browser and removing Edge itself.

It's not an error in cwid.exe if your default browser is not available Smile
