|
|
Considering to upgrade my computer with the recent Zen4 launch...
In the 7700X page, I see
| Quote: | Max Memory Speed
1x1R 5200 MT/s
1x2R 5200 MT/s
2x1R 3600 MT/s
2x2R 3600 MT/s |
Can someone clarify this? Does that mean that Ram speeds higher than 3600 are not supported if using 2 sticks, no matter if they are Single or Dual Rank?
So no way to have Dual Channel without a huge speed decrease?
That is weird... It could be understandable if using 4 sticks, but already only with 2? And the slowest Ddr5s are at 4800 I think...
I know that the sticks often work at higher speeds as specified in the Amd/Intel pages, but still... It suggests that I should buy the cheapest Ddr5 if I am using 2 sticks because faster ones would have trouble running at higher speeds... _________________ Stelo.xyz Museum (CPU Collection and more) |

| That must be per channel data. You can use dual channel as one stick per channel without any speed penalty. |

That makes more sense this way, thank you. _________________ Stelo.xyz Museum (CPU Collection and more) |
