I copied that list from website. Athlon XP is on Socket 754 so why Athlon 64 (special version) can't be on Socket A ? Hehe in fact I don't know. Thoroughbred and Barton is Palomino in other manufacturing process with some addons - this propably mean author of list. Slot A Thunderbirds EXIST. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

No! You are wrong. There aren't any Athlon XP on S754. Maybe you doesn't distinguish them with Sempron. There are two types of Sempron:
Socket A - based on Athlon XP core
Socket 754 - based on "light" A64 core

Maybe yes, maybe not... Would you say (for example) that Tualatins are Katmaies (or Coppermines) on 0.13 micron tech? I think that wouldn't....

I like this resource:

and particularly
http://users.erols.com/chare/786.htm
It is very reliable and comprehensive source of info. _________________ FreeBSD - forever

I invite you to read topic from one week ago :

Maybe block diagram is exactly same in Palomino and Thoroughbred and that is reason why he wrote that. When I get free time I will check that. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

OK. There is only ONE Athlon XP, based on A64 core This is likely to be "easter egg" from AMD
I found a more information here:
http://forums.amd.com/lofiversion/index.php/t38325.html
So, actually, this is Clawhammer, not Barton or Thoroughbred...
And note: this CPU is called Athlon XP-M (i.e. mobile), not simple "Athlon XP"

There is more than one Athlon XP-M processor for socket 754:
AHN2800BIX2AR
AHN2800BIX2AY
AHN2800BQX3AP
AHN2800BQZ3AP
AHN3000BIX3AP
AHN3000BIX3AX
AHN3000BIX3AY
They are all mobile processors. I dont think that desktop Athlon XP for socket 754 exists.
