Hi all,
I've used the CPUZ and HWINFO software for cpu testing. The prelimiary test was based on Pentium MMX 233Mhz cpu running at 200Mhz thru a Windows ME.
Unfortunately both software report the cpu running at 200Mhz rather than the actual CPU speed (i.e. 233Mhz).
How do I get the real cpu id to identify my "fake" cpu?

| I think most of them always report the running speed of earlier cpus, you can only check against known CPUID strings. |

How to check against known CPUID strings? I get the stepping code from HWINFO but can't use it to identify them.

Early CPUID, with no extended CPUID, will only tyell you who made a processor and what the type is. Speed has to be measured by testing how it is running, you can't test how it was rated to run (two processors with dies from the same wafer might be rated differently - a die from one part of the wafer might run coller at a higher speed than from another part of the wafer, but they won't alter paths on the die to reflect that.
