|
|
Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a rare Pentium Overdrive SU082 CPU for use with one of my old Socket 4 motherboards - I believe it is an Intel Premiere PCI ED (Batman's Revenge).
My question is: Is this CPU compatible with all Socket 4 motherboards or just a select few?
If the latter is the case, which models can I use with this CPU and which should I avoid considering?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Best Wishes,
Richard |

| Yes, it is compatible with all S4 boards. I've run it on different S4 boards with Intel, SiS and OPTi chipsets without any problems. |

Thank you for the response.
I recently contacted someone regarding compatibility with a Socket 4 Acer V12P and they confirmed that the only CPUs that would run on this particular motherboard were the Pentium 60 MHz & Pentium 66 MHz. Have you ever tried using the SU082 on an Acer V12 or V12P?
According to The Retro Web the only boards that offer support for the Pentium Overdrive 133 MHz CPU are:
DFI G586POP
Intel Premiere/PCI ED (Batman's Revenge)
MSI MS-5103 (PCI/ISA 586MC1)
Siemens Nixdorf System Board D841
Taken PCI560-01
I found this information by navigating to the 'CPU' tab for all Socket 4 motherboards that were listed. Do you think this information is inaccurate or incorrect?
Best Wishes,
Richard |

I looked at photos of Acer V12 and it is look likes like intel reference S4 board, nothing special, there the example of work Acer V12 + POPD. It should work in 99.99% cases on all S4 boards. |
