I don't know if introductory posts are a norm here, but anyway I'm here and I've still haven't been eaten by a grue (if it's not, please excuse the noise).
Peace. |

Welcome! Are you perchance from the realm of Vogons? 😉
If you’re seeking the spell of Mastery, it is not to be found here. We have but arcane artifacts of power consumption, both known and unknown, and multi-legged icons of gold and ceramic. Sometimes even mysterious glass discs even appear!
Welcome all the same though - Cheers |

Well I hope I'll get to contribute some pictures of the stuff I've been hoarding over the years for the common knowledge set.

Would be neat if there was a thread for new people to introduce themselves, as far as I know there isn't. Good to see more new people! _________________ My Collection Archive |

So i will use this thread to present myself.
I started electronics when i was young, buy a TI57 in 1978, a TRS80 in 1980.
I lost interest in electronics but every ten years i open all boxes, buy more stuff, think of a lot of projects and close the boxes!
These last years i buyed and was donated a lot of integrated circuits from people stopping electronics and retired engineers.
I also buyed IC from our Chinese friends of Ebay and Aliexpress for my hundred projects but still not doing anything at this time.
I have almost finished my stock list, only 150 TTL and CMOS IC to add. (and also a box of desoldered ones)
Started testing standard EPROM, memories, CMOS and TTL.
I have a very low budget, money comes from the sale of my unwanted stuff.
I do not collect PGA and socketed x86 CPU.
Only DIL and PLCC CPU and microcontrollers except ROM and OTP versions unless ROM can be disabled with preference for windowed, piggyback and with BASIC ROM.
And probably only one kind in each family.
I have 160 chips and 80 duplicates. (approximate because when i started my stock list when i was young i do not take care of prefix and suffix letters)
Also one kind for eprom (only five to find like green or pink ceramic) 50 eprom but several not to keep.
Unfortunately i am also hypnotized by VFD and nixies displays.
But with the price increase i choose to add only 10 mores VFD and update from 4 to 6 nixie to do a clock.
Other IC i collect: vumeter, sound chips, NE555.
In fact only if the same vendor have them in their inventory at low price.
Don't want to do an order only for them or pay 15€ for a NE555.
I dreamed to do trades with my very few cpu sample.
But disappointed that they are not worth 100$.
And that it cost (according to ParcelMonkey) 30€ to send/receive a very small packet between USA and France (sorry for my English)
I hope that next year i can start one of my project: build a small SBC with one of my CPU.
Browsing this site to do discovery. Don't know that ATMEL made a 68K.
Also i have 1000 books on programming and electronics.
100 manuals and 80 databooks |

Welcome!
There are some members that are big collectors of Data Books, especially INTEL books. You might want to post a list of what data books you have. _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

I have an excerpt of my databook on my personal site:
https://www.franck-pissotte.fr/bibli/electronique.htm
Databooks are mixed with french and english books.
Two dozen not showed, including the 8086 intel one i used to start learning 8086 assembly on an Intel MDS86.
Also not listed litteraly one thousand of english and french books about programming and electronics.
