Normal mark is "III" but this k6 is "lll" . I think it's a fake chip.

In K6-2 and K6-III processors you can see the 'xxx MHz' mark at right-up corner. If yours is fake could be you can read '350MHz'.

Tell us what you see at corner.

CPUbar
yes, you are right - this is fake.
Also you can check it with any CPU identification utility:
K6-2 doesn't have on-die L2 cache, but K6-III has...

You can also check package number in the lower left corner of the CPU. It's a 5-digit number starting from 26. K6-III processors usually have 26369. But the best way, of course, check for L2 cache - like Root suggested.

There is "400Mhz" mark at right-up corner .And "26369" in the lower left corner .

I think it is not a fake chip now. Very Happy

The CPUID will tell whether it is a K6-2 or a K6-3 as well.

058x = K62 Family
059x = K6-3 Family (and some sources say also K6-2+)
05Dx = K6-2+ (x = 4-7) or K6-3+ (x = 0-3)

If your CPUID app doesn't return cache size, just check the CPUID, as mentioned in my previous post. The CPUID will tell you whether it is a K6-2 or K6-3, without any need for checking the cache. The CPUID will give no confusion about what processor family it is, for the K6-* family of processors.

I think it is not a fake chip, but why the k6 and k6-III show the same CPUID.

"AMD K6(tm)" is not a CPUID. To find out CPUID and size of L2 cache please download CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com and run it on your system.
