Here are some interesting ones.

These are boards from an AMD SeaMicro SM15000-XE Server.

SeaMicro made 10U rack mount servers for handling backend webtraffic, cloud computing etc.

They handled the backend of Verizon Cloud, WayFair, and others

They could be configured with Aton N570 CPUs,, Sandy Bridge E3 Xeons, and later Ivy and Haswell Xeons as well as eventually AMD Opterons/

AMD bought them in 2012 and continued making Intel Xeon based servers.

These cards are from a SM15000 (faster links, and support for 1048 hard drives vs 64 of the older 1000)

Each board has a Xeon E3-1265L (very strange that they have the version with an integrated GPU) and 16GB of ECC mobile RAM.

There are 4 FreedomFabric ASICs which were the 'secret sauce' AMD was after.

Under the heatsink is an Intel chipset.

I have 3 of these

$88 each complete with CPU and RAM

1048 hard drives? Doubt most of us could fill Petabytes of drive space Smile I'd have a damn good try though!

LOL. I remember when a GB seemed pretty fantastical, and a TB was more of a theoretical number supported by a file system.

And now we are here…
