This is a VIA Eden ESP 8000 processor, 800MHz 1.05V Nehemiah core, in BGA packaging soldered on a mainboard of the HP Compaq T5520 thin client. The L1 cache is 64Kb for data and 64Kb for instructions. The L2 cache is 64Kb exclusive. Very much like in AMD Duron.

The mainboard is all VIA: CLE266 north bridge, VT8235M south bridge, VT1211 super I/O, VT1612A audio chip, VT6103 Ethernet transceiver. There is 128Mb DDR 266MHz memory of which 16Mb reserved for the integrated S3 UniChrome (CastleRock) video. There is also a small 64Mb IDE 44-pin flash disk-on-module with Windows CE 5.0 Pro installed.

These thin clients were manufactured in 2005 or 2006. They were retired the last year from a large company and sent for recycling. I have figured out that fellow collectors can make a better use of these. T5520 is an excellent performer with Windows 98SE. 112Mb of memory is right enough, the GPU can do not bad 3D in Direct3D/OpenGL/MeTaL, the CPU supports MMX and SSE with a full speed FPU, the BIOS is HP branded Award/Phoenix. There is a PS/2 port for keyboard/mouse, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a COM port and an LPT port, a 100 megabit Ethernet port, audio out and in for regular 3.5mm mini-jacks. High quality Japanese capacitors by Sanyo and Nippon Chemi-Con. From what I see, the performance is about what a Pentium III 500MHz with a 3Dfx Voodoo2 can deliver.

After all, the whole box is absolutely silent consuming 22W off the wall running Memtest. You only need to pick up a 8Gb disk-on-module for like $20 on eBay and get a 12V charger with a common jack.

$9 per unit + postage or $30 for a single one with worldwide registered postage included.

10 available

I've reduced the price to $30 to match U.S. eBay, but I really can't go much lower because int'l registered mail is expensive.

As I still have many of these, let's do a sale $9 each! The parts alone are worth more.

If you would like a 12V charger, I have a few for $5 each.

Postage is somewhat expensive because this thing weighs 1.5kg due to internal steel housing. It's $21 registered air mail for a single unit, though I can do $10 to the AVICC.

Tempting, but I need to finish paying what I owe you first. Maybe in about 6 weeks Smile

Send me a private message. PayPal is fine.
