Does anyone here know what IP stands for on a CPU code?
For example IP80C86-4
Also the 4 is unusual does it stand for 4 Mhz? |

The "I" is a Harris designation for industrial, which means operating temperatures between -40C and 85C. IP = industrial plastic package, ID = industrial ceramic package, sort of like P8088 vs D8088.
The 8086-2 is clocked at 8 MHz while the 8086-4 is clocked at 4 MHz. That's a bit odd to me, so hopefully someone else can add to this. _________________ My CPU List (Trades and For Sale) |
