I has get some strange information about existing samples Pentium D at Presler core at beginning of 2005 year. A little time before Intel should officially released Smithfield (Pentium D 8x0).
So can you approve it information or it's fake?
What you and your collections thinks about it?)

Here's all the dates on my Pentium D 9xx parts:

QJZB - 2005 week 33
QJYZ - 2005 week 32
QKKG - 2005 week 45
QJYX - 2005 week 34
QJYW - 2005 week 34

Mine are all B1 stepping or newer so you may need to seek out A-stepping for the earliest dates.

Next time I have access to it, I'll check the date on my QGSZ (It's Dempsey but 775, so basically Presler)

My thanks. Looks like your samples to "old".Laughing
If sourse Anandtech is right the samples should be much earlier.
Like you said it should be A0 stepping because the author mentioned low speeds like 2GHz.
wren4777, Fingers crossed, I'm waiting for your next comment with a CPU that is not in the database. Idea

Ho, ho ,ho!
Found photo of it.
So early sample 15WW 2005y Exclamation
Product code HH80555KE0724M , so it's should be a Xeon Dempsey.
But the holes cut for desktop platform .
Anyway it should be a 65nm dualcore at beginning of 2005.
Looks like the sourse were right. Twisted Evil

Presler A0 do exists (QPEC QEOx with x from F to M).

But technically, there is no Presler, it's only a marketing gimmick. The core is Cedarmill.

The tapein for Cedarmill happened in WW04'05 with an initial target boot frequency at 2 GHz.

Hello. I perfectly understand that Presler is not more than 2x Cedar Mill cores were puts together at the same pcb , so the birth can be the same date.
But physically other.
