Not sure why people keep getting errors like these too, I can browse it just fine.

That comment was completely uncalled for. There's no reason at all for a reaction like that.

With the number of newly registered members complaining, I'd guess the server has developed a bad attitude!

Maybe make it available to members only in the short term or something?

It's been going on for quite some time now, maybe a month.

After 20+ years I can say thanks to Genna for not shutting down the whole thing and be done with it.

Edit:
I went to home page, clicked on login, and it started working again.

Is there a different policy or path for logging in to site and forums?

Weird.

I think you need to be logged in to the forums, not just the website.

Maybe it's related to the browser or ad blocker one uses. I've accessed this site for years and years when I have a CPU spec question. I guess I haven't been here in a while as I've just come across the blocked pages. I registered and still had problems. Switched from Brave to Chrome and now I can access CPU specs.

Thank you Gennadiy!

If you're still getting this scraping message:

1) Use a proxy or a VPN; switching IPs might get rid of the scraping message assuming your original IP address range has bots using it for scraping.

2) Change the user agent of your web browser; if the previous step didn't work, this is likely to be the problem. My Android 12 phone running Chrome 131 appears to be getting the scraping message no matter what I do unless I change the user agent to anything that isn't an Android user agent. For myself, any user agent containing Windows fixes the problem.

I managed to reproduce this oddity by changing my user agent on Windows running Chrome 125 to an Android 2.3 user agent preset profile, which causes the scraping message to show up consistently. If your browser supports changing user agents on the fly, try experimenting with it. Alternatively, use a different browser. That works too.

I'm also a long-time lurker getting the scraping pages now. I'm pretty much an idiot and dont have anything useful to add to most conversations and am pretty introverted hence this being my first post. One time I did anonymously suggest a correction to something years ago, though.

Like someone else mentioned, I can look at some older CPUs like the 8080 and 65816, but looking at Ivy Bridge to see what i can do to upgrade my old Dell home server, that generates the page.

I have ABP and it was accidentally blocking ads some (months?) ago but that is disabled for the entire site since i found that back then. Spectrum will change my IP once in a year or so and i have a somewhat hardened home router using Cloudflare's stricter DNS because of my 14yo son that likes to get into things, but it doesn't ad block to avoid such circumstances. I am logged into the forum (hi) and the site, tried different browser, clearing caches/cookies, different DNS as I am seeing some NS_BINDING_ABORT for doubleclick and google ads even though they seem to be responding. Firefox doesnt seem to allow changing the useragent string but also Edge gives the same results. VPN or proxy is not currently available to me.

This site is an amazing collection and have always appreciated the work put into it while climbing into rabbit holes, and I understand with all the stupid AI scraping there needs to be controls, but i guess i just wish there was some way around this.

Firefox has supported changing its user agent since... version 2? Are you using some kind of stripped down variant? Whatever it is, it should have about:config and general.useragent.override available. Follow this guide - https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-change-your-user-agent/firefox

For Chromium-based Edge - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/devtools-guide-chromium/device-mode/override-user-agent

Use my user agent string for both browsers, see if that works: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/125.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

I've been going to this sight for a few years now cause it's nice for comparing old chips and having ideas for doing upgrades on old systems.

but yeah, this is annoying.

Same. I understand no ones entitled to anything and that other sites stealing content is incredibly annoying. But why throw all your work away to spite a few bad actors? The scrapers aren't going to stop...but people will stop coming to the site if it's unreliable/non-functional.

I think the owner(s) need to make a choice if they want the content to be public or private, free or monetized. Because purposely breaking the site isn't a solution.
