When you forget where got something or what exactly it even is.
I have an assumption but curious what others opinions are. |

This is a Hitachi made Power5 CPU.
Hitachi licenced IBM mainframe technology like the z800 System Z and RS/6000, as the Japanese market was more encline to purchase from national manufacturers than from IBM.
This goes in the Hitachi SR11000 Super Technical Server
Very very cool, and rare. |

Thanks Aberco,
I assumed a power 5 due to its similarity to my other power 5.
But the other information is quite helpful. |

Cool MCM!
I've been looking for a Power 5 in white ceramics for my collection for a long time. _________________ WTB List / Trade List |

| Where did you find this? I expect that they would be elusive outside of Japan |

Woooah, that is one amazing MCM collection. Love the 3D printed holders, I just have all of mine sitting on a shelf haha. I've seen those smaller white ceramic ones before, no idea what they are, but the dies being on interposers looks a lot like some big Hitachis I have. _________________ My Collection Archive |
