|
|
When I go to the Forum using the Url https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/ (for example when clicking on the "Forum" link in the top navigation menu), I get the message
| Quote: | Access denied
This IP address is blocked.
We deny access to:
Open proxies
Addresses within data center IP ranges
Automated requests and most types of bots
Visitors that post spam in comments and/or forums, attempt to circumvent site security, or scrap the content of our site. |
But otherwise, the Forum works fine. Notably, https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/index.php works but not https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/ .
Am I the only affected? It is a minor bug, but since I often use that Navigation Link to come back to the Index, it makes me think that my Ip was somehow actually banned Lol _________________ Stelo.xyz Museum (CPU Collection and more) |

| Yep, that's definitely a skill issue on your side because I can access the forum just fine. |

Some skill issue huh...
I can obviously access the Forum since I am posting...
There is simply that particular bug that can make the navigation slightly annoying and should be fixed.
Did some investigation, the bug might be FireFox related, it does not happen with Edge.
It does happen on my Phone however, using Mobile Data (another Ip). Still with FireFox. _________________ Stelo.xyz Museum (CPU Collection and more) |

It seems that the webserver no longer appends index.php to URLs that point to directories. I suspect this is caused by recent webserver upgrade. I'm going to investigate it tomorrow.
In the meantime please use this URL to access the forum:

| CHips wrote: | | Am I the only affected? | As for this odd bug, I'm not affected by it. It seems like your IP address range simply happened to be used extensively by bots and your IP address is within that specific range, unfortunately. Wait it out for the time being, hopefully gshv can fix it quickly. |

I managed to replicate this 'bug' that you, NSX, kithylin, and red-ray were affected with. It seems that refreshing any page which has an 'Access denied, This IP address is blocked.' error at least 5 times and optionally switch user agents on the fly, will trigger the site's security to IP block you.
The link in cpu-world.com/info/id_model/AMD-desktop-conventions.html, which is 'Known model numbers of AMD desktop processors', should link to an invalid page due to a typo in the link's URL. Either an access denied error page will show up or you will get the invalid page. For my case, it was the invalid page. I corrected the typo 'Atlon' to 'Athlon' and was given the access denied error page for some reason. At this point, if you were to navigate to other pages without constantly refreshing the same page at least 5 times, you won't get IP blocked.
For the sake of the four of you, I decided to experiment with the 'security' measures to find out what mistakenly gets you IP blocked. That's when I refreshed the access denied error page 5 times, switched between 4 user agents and I was greeted with a permanent IP block on every CPU-World page, including GPUZoo.
You can also get the access denied error on every CPU-World page by viewing the site with an outdated browser, which in my case was Microsoft Edge 92. I assume this is related to the old user agent problem that gave everyone a scraping error page, but oddly with a newer browser. |

Having the same issue... again.
My browser (Vivaldi) has the annoying habit of autocompleting URLs to some URL/deeplink you've visited from that site before, so if I type "cpu-wo" it autocompletes to "cpu-world.com/CPUs/Celeron/Intel-Mobile%20Celeron%20433%20-%20KC80524KX433128.html" as I've apparently visited that page at some point in the past before.
The problem? Visiting a deep link like that directly (due to no fault of my own, again the browser autocompletes the URL) IMMEDIATELY blacklists my IP so nothing but the front page loads anymore. Not even the contact page, which is also quite idiotic, as you can't even mention that your IP has falsely been blacklisted. Great job /s
Quite frankly stupid restrictions like this make me not wanna bother with cpu-world anymore. Sucks that most other sites are based purely on clickbait BS (useless CPU comparison sites not based on benchmarks) and/or are nowhere near as detailed even if they aren't. |

Back from a few years of lurking - This is still my favorite resource for CPU info!!
I've just started experiencing "IP Address Blocked" on most pages I visit here, including the 'Contact Us' page.
Just adding my report to the pile, I guess! I'm happy to provide any additional info I am able. Currently on the latest version of Chrome on Win11, behind a FortiNet firewall. |

| For some reason my IP is blocked as well, probably a bug of some kind. I have disabled adblock as requested. As far as I know I haven't done anything special or irregular. Last visit has been over 7 days ago, since Adblock was on again before I disabled it. Screenshot attached. |

Your problem is probably the easiest to fix. When your browser autocomplete a URL, fix it before you try to load the page! The browser doesn't force you to load the page it thought you were looking for. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
